Afternoon Tea at the Celtic

Being able to forge a relationship with such a prestigious Welsh company, supplying cake hand made in Wales, it was everything Sian had dreamed of.

Early Years

Sian and Ian founded La Creme Patisserie in 2005 with the aim of making great cake in Wales. Sian, has always had a passion for food, having previously worked for Tesco as a food technologist before taking a career break to raise her children. La Creme Patisserie began in her back kitchen, growing into a cafe in Neath before eventually a production kitchen in Baglan and a 10,00sqft unit in Cwmbran.

The direction of the business has changed over the years, from initially wedding cakes and food festivals to now producing cake and afternoon tea for prestigious venues, hotel chains and events

Graduations and Celebrations

We take great pride that La Creme Patisserie is family run business. It means that our ethos and standards have been held for twenty years and will continue for the decades to come.

As a family, we are incredibly proud of the milestones we’ve achieved over the years. Our children have grown within the business, graduated university, earned their first homes and met wonderful partners. Working hard, working together and getting through life’s ups and downs as a team.

A Leap of Faith

In 2018, our Baglan kitchen was at maximum capacity and with Rob and Bec returning to the business, it was time to take on a huge risk and move our production to Cwmbran.

We invested in new machinery, welcomed new team members and started producing cake for customers across the UK.

Our delivery routes have expanded from Wales to London, Sheffield, Manchester and the South West.

Pandemic Years

The pandemic years were extremely difficult for everyone, us included. We made thousands of cakes for the Cheltenham festival and then the country entered lockdown.

With our freezers full of stock, Bec put up a post on Facebook offering to deliver to local customers and… it went a bit crazy. We opened up little cake counters in our Baglan and Cwmbran kitchens and were absolutely blown away with the response.

Gradually, our business customers were allowed to re-open and our focus has returned to them, but we will always be grateful for the support of our local community through those times.
