About Us

Founded by Sian and Ian Hindle in 2005, we have 15 years of experience in making amazing cake.

Sian has always been fascinated by food, she often talks about her mother’s despair at having to eat blue custard with her apple crumble, just to see if it tasted the same as the pink!

Sian founded La Creme Patisserie to make amazing food. Gateaux, cake, dessert …. we still have customers commenting how much they miss Sian’s soup and quiche, 16 years after our first cafe.

Over the years, our principles have remained the same. We don’t take shortcuts, we use proper ingredients, sourced as locally as possible and we take care of our customers.

La Creme’s journey has taken us from cooking at home to our first cafe in Neath, to a kitchen in Baglan, to another shop in Neath and now to our 10,000sqft industrial unit in Cwmbran.

The team has grown over the years and Sian and Ian’s children have taken key roles in the business, as we work to create something magical together. Rob, our Operations Director handles sales, distribution and  making sure our customers have the best experience possible. Bec, our Creative Director runs the kitchen, handles our product development and keeps our Social Media buzzing. Her ultimate aim is to get Sian on T.V, so any enquires please please send us a message 😉

We have been suppling industrial customers for a long time with coffee shop cake, afternoon tea and desserts.

We’ve worked incredibly hard over the years and are proud to count Kew Gardens, the Devere Hotels, the Celtic Manor Resort and Cheltenham Race Course among our customers. This year, we re-opened our Baglan kitchen to run gluten free production in a dedicated space. We now make cake, afternoon tea, scones and desserts for our gluten free customers in our shops and for our customer’s guests.

Our Cwmbran kitchen is SALSA and NSF accredited, 5* food hygiene rated and we operate our own delivery vans to make sure the cake gets to our customers in perfect condition.

Covid 19

The pandemic came as a shock to us, and hit us hard. Our business was built to supply businesses with our amazing patisserie, and with the closure of restaurants we lost all of our work.

So, we had to adapt.

Bec put out the message on social media asking if anyone would like us to deliver some cake and we are still overwhelmed at the amazing response. One week later, we delivered VE Day Afternoon Tea to over 150 homes across South Wales.

One month later, we opened our old kitchen unit in Baglan as a cake-away, with counters of beautiful patisserie available for customers every day.

Now, we are have three stores – Baglan, Cwmbran and Abergavenny.

2023 has been an incredible year for the business. We’ve grown tremendously making desserts for Leeds football club, afternoon tea at Wimbledon and Lord’s Cricket.

It’s been an absolute delight designing and producing specially themed afternoon tea pieces for the Crown to Couture exhibit at Kensington Palace.

To say we are incredibly grateful to our community is an understatement. We thought we had lost everything after all these years of building the business.

To have such a lovely response, to talk to so many wonderful and kind people and become a part of their lives and celebrations though our cake is quite frankly mind bogglingly, and we are so incredibly grateful.

So to conclude……  buy some cake from us.

We appreciate it so much and we promise you won’t be disappointed
